The Gorgeous George trout fishing fly was invented by Paul Cantillon from Cork and has been one of the most popular trout fly patterns of recent years. It is a difficult fly to tie involving alot of materials and is a bit bumble, a bit hopper.
It is a great pattern for daphnia feeders and has been successful for both brown trout, sea trout and salmon and even rainbows.
It is a particular favourite on Lough Melvin but is fished everywhere.
This is a good example of the original dressing but there are now many variants.
